Happy Birthday, Marijane Satrapi!

by Kim on November 22, 2008 · 7 comments

I totally forgot about my next author’s birthday — Marijane Satrapi, author of Persepolis!  I’m going to have to do the full post about her sometime next week, no time left today.  But, I at least wanted the birthday wish to go out on the appropriate day, even if she won’t know it.

Also, I just got home from a very exciting Badger football team win — 36-35 over Cal Poly.  The Badgers played pretty badly and probably didn’t deserve to win, but it was an exciting (and cold) game anyway!

It’s cold down here in South Carolina, so I bet it’s freezing up there. That’s dedication to sit out there and watch football in that kind of weather.

I went to a college football game Saturday, too! and it was cold – we left at half time… shame on us, but my toes were little blocks of ice.

Happy Birthday Ms Satrapi!

bermudaonion: I was with friends who are much more hardcore than I was; if I’d been by myself I probably would have given up!

Andi: Me too!

Louise: Yikes, I bet it is even colder where you are!

bkclubcare: My toes were frozen too — sitting on metal seats with concrete underneath your feet makes for a chilly time.

Go Badgers!

I really liked the Persepolis books but haven’t read the one about her uncle. Have you read that one? I can’t decide whether I’d like it.

alirambles: I haven’t read that one either. I keep meaning to read Persepolis, I don’t know why I haven’t yet, but it’s just sitting up on my shelf making fun of me :)
