I think the social media carnival is a GREAT idea. I use a few of the ones you mentioned but don’t know them well enough to write about them. I could really use help with them though.

Your other ideas are great too. Keep up the good work and thanks.

So glad I joined this project. From zero visitors to 8 public + a handful of anonymous ones in two weeks, that is not bad, is it?
I really think my new blog is doing well, and I am quite proud that I did come up with a weekly feature which also gives me an opportunity to add some of my own photos.

I really like the idea of a social media carnival. I belong to Stumble Upon, Technorati, and Facebook, as well as several blog rating sites that aren’t social. I don’t understand what AllTop is at all, or the point of All Mediocre, although I’m on their list!
For those who want to work on the visual design of their blog, I found a site that has other bloggers critique your blog. I’ve got to find it again, but we could set up something among ourselves to do that, as well.

I think a social media thing would be good, too! Right now I mostly just use Twitter, but I’ve been experimenting with StumbleUpon and Technorati as well. I’d be interested in learning about others that would help my blog (and, er, what use Technorati is. I’m not entirely sure I see the point to it, especially compared to Twitter and Delicious and so on).

Margot: I’m going to keep linking all the BIP posts to the main page you have bookmarked. I don’t plan on posting much other than the main projects (on the dates listed) and wrap up posts if they seem important. So, there probably won’t be anything between the Monday posts to look at, but if there is I will make sure to link it back to that main page. I’m not sure if there is a better way to do it than that, but I’ll keep trying to think if it becomes a problem.

Everyone else: I’m glad the idea of a Social Media Carnival sounds good!
