BIP Week 3: Bingo Winners!

by Kim on February 16, 2009 · 20 comments

2009BIP 150x210Week 4 of the Blog Improvement Project was Blog Post Bingo.  Of the people who signed Mr. Linky that they participated, 8 of them completed all 10 posts: Dorte H at DJs Krimiblog (with a little fudging), Suey at It’s All About Books, Sherrie at Just Books, Sarah at Behold, the thing that reads a lot, Jackie at Farm Lane Books, Margot at Joyfully Retired, Chelsea at Book Maven’s Blog, and Becky at Becky’s Book Reviews and Young Readers and Operation Actually Read Bible.

After using the random number generator based on their Mr. Linky number, the winner of the $10 Amazon e-gift certificate is:

Suey from It’s All About Books!!

Suey did a great Opinion Post on the benefits of fiction versus nonfiction, a How-To Post on how to run a book fair, participated in the alphabet meme for her Long Post, and did some 19th Cenury definitions for the Definition Post.  Those are just a few of the neat posts she did for the project — be sure to check them out!

I also used the random number generator to chose two other participants to also be featured in this wrap up post.  The two other winners this week are:

Sherrie at Just Books and Beth F at Beth Fish Reads!!

My favorite post that Sherrie did this week was her Link Post about best books of 2008 because it led me to a cool list from NPR and because doing the post helped her learn how to do links in the first place!  My favorite post from Beth was her How-To Post about how to make buttons — something cool and really useful for other new bloggers out there.  I don’t have anything for you guys, just a hearty congratulations from me and the rest of the participants.

Make sure you check out all of these awesome bloggers, and thanks to everyone who participated!

Also, a question for everyone: I’m thinking about repeating a challenge like this later in the BIP, leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Way to go Suey!!!! Good job!

Awwwww. Thanks for the shout-out!

I would love to see this type of challenge again in the early fall. I’d be curious to see how many of these types of posts become part of our usual blogging.

Thanks for coming up with a great challenge.

I’d like to see another challenge like this, since I didn’t get to participate in the first one!

By the way, is it too late to sign up for the BIP?

Congratulations to Suey, the Honorables and to everyone who participated. It was a fun stretch of my creativity to try to come up with the different types of posts and that felt good. Yes, it would be great to be challenged again later on. Right now I have other improvements to my blog that I need to work on. Thanks, Kim, for your excellent leadership on the BIP.

Congrats to the winners!!! I forgot to sign Mr. Linky, but I enjoyed the experience! It challenged me to think of HOW I was writing the material. If you did something similar again I think it would be great.

Congratulations to the winners!
I thought this was a great idea; it was extremely challenging for me. I really enjoyed reading the different posts people shared and definitely noticed a difference in their blogs.
I would play again!

Would love to see this one again, since these past two weeks have practically been too crazy for me to blog at all, much less improve my blog!

Congratulations everyone! I didn’t have a chance to check out anyone else’s posts so I hope to do that.

Although I couldn find the time to finish all 10 (especially since I’m doing BIP with 2 blogs) I did enjoy it and would love to see something similar again.

Congrats to the winners … and, yes! I’d love to see this particular challenge again. In the meantime, I’ll be trying to vary the types of posts on my blog (on my own, without your prodding!)

Awesome, thank you for the feedback everyone! I think the consensus is that this was fun and we should try it again, which is what I was hoping for :) Maybe I’ll try to schedule it for a time when there will be three weeks between tasks instead of the usual two so more people have a chance to get all 10 done.
