Thank you Julia, it’s really nice to hear that it is going well so far

I think trying some new social media tools is a good idea, but it’s really easy to get overwhelmed by it. I’m hoping that having people submit stories about how some have worked for them will help all of us make good decisions about what tools might be helpful and which ones might not be.

Facebook just started when I was a freshman in college, so I’ve been using it for like 5 years now. It’s sort of a funny transition from just being something college kids used to something everyone can see — there’s a lot of talk about how students need to be careful with their Facebook pages because people can see them and employers may make hiring decisions because of all the photos of you on Facebook partying or something. Facebook has a lot of features, so it could be confusing, but I think it’s probably one of the websites I check most often during the day (after e-mail, Google Reader, and my blog, I suppose )
