I wanted to write a (hopefully meaningful) comment to let you know I haven’t dropped out and abandoned your guidance I’ll catch up … Thanks for all you’re doing to spur us on!

(No, afraid I am showing off – horribly busy, but after I wrote my last BIP post about commenting, my readers have left so many fine & engaged comments – so one side of it works).

You’re fantastic about following up on comments — I loved the back and forth you and I had with Nymeth on a post about a week ago; that was really fun!

I agree with you — I like to think of my blog as conversational, but sometimes it’s tough because it feels like I talk, I get responses, but then when I try to talk back again that doesn’t happen.

The other thing I’ve noticed in book blogs is that comments rarely respond to each other. On newspaper or forums, comments almost always address other people who also commented. I don’t get that a lot on my blog, and I haven’t totally figured out why. Maybe it goes back to the whole one-sided thing: my blog seems like a place to interact with me, not with other bloggers.
