We always appreciate our cheerleaders, but if you get the chance to read, it's so very much fun!

I'm so glad you had a good time with your first Read-a-Thon! It's fun to do, but a little draining. Next time I hope I can balance a bit and actually read.

I didn't even think to make a Blogger profile until this weekend; it was a lifesaver. For regular commenting, I think I'll keep using Open ID, since it sends people straight to this blog, but for something like the Read-a-Thon it saved me a ton of time.

Thank you for a great Read-a-Thon. I know you weren't The Sponsor but Cheerleading meant a lot to me. This was my first experience and I didn't know what to expect. Seeing the Cheerleader's comments was a very pleasant surprise. It was great to see your friendly face in my comment section in the early morning hours. Next time I have decided to spend several hours just cheerleading because I saw personally how helpful it was.

I am with you on the Blogger profile. I have one too and for some people (including many on BIP) that is the only way I am known. I guess those folks think that everyone is on Blogger. It cuts down on what blogs I comment on. It would probably be an effective strategy for the BIP people to examine their own blog's ability to receive comments. Some blogs are not comment friendly for more than one reason. Maybe that is how they wish it. But it's frustrating.

I think if you read and host a mini-challenge, the mini-challenge is a break from reading. At least, that's how I think I will do it if I decide to read in October.

I don't mind word verification most of the time, it's just frustrating when you're commenting that many times in a row. After awhile the random letters and numbers started to make my eyes go buggy!

The comic was a little more in-depth than I thought it would be, but I was happy for the people that participated. I had fun making mine, at least :)

I hope to have more balance read-a-thonning next year too -- I like the idea of alternating between reading and cheerleading. The problem is I get so focused on one thing (cheerleading) that I do it at the expense of all other things. Balance will probably be the key to the October Read-a-Thon.

Wordpress spam catcher is really good -- I've only had one spammer that continually gets through, and it doesn't usually stop things that it shouldn't.

Next year I hope I can have a little more variety to my Read-a-Thon (maybe actually read a bit :) ).

And yay Wisconsin!

I agree with the first and the last point so much. I hate word verification now whereas before I wasn't so bothered. I also think I want to read next year, but how will that work with a mini challenge?
