Hooray! Today is my one year blogoversary! I wrote my Welcome Post for this blog on May 10, 2008, about a week before my college graduation, which doesn’t seem like it was a full year ago.
In one year, I’ve written 254 posts. I’ve read 77 books, but not written quite that many reviews. I’ve had 36,063 hits and, even more importantly, 2,295 comments. That’s a lot!
It’s been an amazing year, I can’t quite find the words to explain how much this blog and the blogging community has grown to mean to me. A lot of the other student bloggers I read have been on blog vacations for the last several weeks as they work through finals and end of the semester madness. I thought about that for awhile, but every time I sat down to write the “I’m on vacation” post I couldn’t do it.
I love posting to this blog. At this point it’s not really something I feel like I have to go out of my way to do, it’s something I want to do, and the days when I don’t have a post feel odd. During all this stress, blogging continues to make me happy, which is probably the only reason to keep doing.
I wanted to do a contest of some sort to celebrate, but I ran out of time to figure it out this week. I hope I can post my celebration contest next Sunday, a little late but exciting anyway. For now, join me for some virtual cake, candles, and partying. I’m so happy you’re here!
