Check Out the Library of a Sophisticated Dork

image Yesterday I had the pleasure of guest posting for fellow blogger and pen pal Julie over at JulzReads. Julie is currently lakeside in Wisconsin celebrating her 10 year anniversary with her hubby — she asked several bloggers to share their bookshelves while she was gone.

You can get a sneak peek at one of my favorite bookshelves at the left — my read nonfiction shelf. I just recently culled, dusted and rearranged that shelf, I love looking at it and remembering some of my favorite reads over the last several years.

I hope you’ll pop over to Julie’s blog to read the rest of the post and join a little discussion about the benefits of separating your read and unread books on different bookshelves. Enjoy!

I just have one big blob of books, everything all together. I’d love to get a couple more individuals ones like this so I could separate my non-fiction goodness. Crazy how excited we get over our displays of our beloved books!!!

Honestly, I can’t wait to live in a house with a wall big enough to have one giant bookshelf. I’ll still separate some things out, and uses these shelves to stay organized… but there is nothing like a huge wall of books to admire!

I’m going to check it out now!

    It looks gorgeous!

    Cute! Heading over now.

It does look lovely. I want to go read all the titles on your shelf! lol incurable bookaholic 🙂 I love it when shelves are all organized and tidied….but they never stay that way for long, at least mine don’t. I also now finally have my wall of books…..and it’s not enough room!

Now to go check out the site for more shelves…..

Mine get pretty mess pretty fast too, especially the unread books. I’m better about keeping the finished books in order for some reason.

That is a very lovely and organized bookshelf! Are they alphabetized? Mine are always alphabetized because I’m a bit OCD (like – alarm clocks and locks and everything).

    • Kim August 19, 2013, 3:49 pm

Yep, all of the shelves are alphabetized (for the most part — some of the sideways books are out of order, and the galley shelf at Julie’s blog is by pub date).

A snapshot of your fave nonfictions? oh yes.

  • Charlie August 15, 2013, 6:20 pm

Very nice, and I love the shelves!

Love the shelves! I had one like that until I sold it a week ago. Now all my books are on the floor – I can’t wait to buy more shelves!

I swear by these Target shelves. They’re about $100, depending if they’re on sale or not, and have survived for a long time.
