Happy Fall 2014 Readathon!

dewey1Whee! Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is finally here! I have seriously been looking forward to this day all week. Work has been a little insane and I could really use a day devoted (almost) entirely to reading.

I’ll be doing most of my Readathon updates on Twitter (@kimthedork) and Instagram (kimthedork). I’m also planning to update this post with other notes using Storify. I did this for the Spring 2014 Readathon and I thought it worked great. You should be able to see the embedded Storify for my Readathon below, but if not follow this link. If all goes according to plan, the most recent updates from the day will be at the top of the feed.

Happy Readathon!

Cheddar rice cakes? Delicious! I love Trader joes too. Have an awesome readathon!

  • Andi October 18, 2014, 8:36 am

Ok, I think I need you to do a Storify warm up post for the April readathon. If you’re so inclined! It’s such a cool idea!

    • Kim October 18, 2014, 9:05 am

I’d love to do that! It’s really kind of fun and super easy. Remind me in the spring and I will get it together.

  • Wendy @ Wensend October 18, 2014, 9:32 am

Love your TBR pile! And love reading your updates 🙂 Have fun reading Kim!

Oh man, those peanut butter cups are the absolute best. I can’t resist them. Happy reading!

Love your use of Storify. Very clever. Must look into it for the next ‘Thon.

I think it’s working pretty well! I like being able to collect everything in one place, anyway, and it seems like commenting on this blog is easier than other options.

I never sleep well when I have to do something. I might have slept 4 hours, if that. Ah well, I’m used to not sleeping well. Thing is, after the RaT, I probably won’t sleep either for a day or two.

Glad you enjoyed your first book, hope you are continuing to have fun!

  • Julie @ Smiling Shelves October 18, 2014, 3:22 pm

Congrats on finishing your first book. Sounds like you’re having a very successful read-a-thon so far. Enjoy the rest of it!

  • CaroG October 18, 2014, 3:55 pm

Wow you are certainly in a great rhythm! Enjoy your reading!

  • jillora October 18, 2014, 4:10 pm

I started with zombies, too. Between that and the mug, it’s obvious we have superior taste. 😉

  • Christina October 18, 2014, 4:40 pm

Okay, I echo Andi’s request that you do a warm-up post on using Storify next April. Seems much more efficient than cross-posting on two plus platforms. Congrats on finishing a book!

  • Anna October 18, 2014, 7:04 pm

I had peanut butter cup. Sadly my children found them. I didn’t get to eat 1. It sounds like you are getting a lot of reading done and having fun. Keep up the good work.

Fun Home is such a great readathon choice!! I’m losing steam so I might hop into bed with a graphic novel of some kind. LOVE that picture of Hannah. Such a beautiful kitty!

  • CaroG October 18, 2014, 10:08 pm

Oh I hear Ask the Passengers is great! Hope you are having tons of fun!!!

  • C.J. @ebookclassics October 19, 2014, 1:48 am

Good to know that Station Eleven is a great book. I have it on my TBR list and wasn’t sure if I should believe all the hype. Hope you are enjoying the Readathon!

  • Zsi October 19, 2014, 3:12 am

Wow, I’m impressed! YOu are doing this readathon as a really hard-core reader! I hope you’re still awake and reading! #TeamKing

  • Charlie (The Worm Hole) October 19, 2014, 3:30 am

Good on you still reading through the night! I’ve been thinking of reading Station Eleven myself, my Twitter feed’s been full of recommendations.

And is almost over :/ I am happy to go to sleep, but sad at the same time. Good job
