Hello, Kim. I hope I can interest you in "The Best Specimen of a Tyrant: the Ambitious Dr. Abraham Van Norstrand and the Wisconsin Insane Hospital." In 2008 the Wisconsin Historical Society selected the book for its annual "Book of Merit" award from among several dozen submitted including some from its own press and the UW press. Linda Falkenstein gave it a very nice review in the Isthmus Book Quarterly. The Wisconsin Psychiatrist devoted several pages to a terrific and very extensive review. There have been other very positive reviews/mentions. Like Blood Work, it is to some extent a mystery set in the past, and it completely factual and fully documented.
I'd like to mail you a copy. I hope you'll let me know where to send it. If you decide it's not for you -- well, so it goes.
I'm glad to have discovered your class website.
